Tough Guy Update

We have managed to interview the competitors who have spent the last few weeks really toughening up.  With only 18 days to go, let's see how they are feeling!

Alban Ward-Welch

How is the training going so far? Training is going well but there is still a lot to do over these last few weeks.

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? It's for a good cause and I thought yeah, it will be hard but a great experience!

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? We will have to see on the day but we'll all support each other to get over the finish line!

Chris Beech

How is the training going so far?  I think training is going okay but I will need to step up a few more gears over the next 3 weeks if I am to be in top condition!

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? Having lived a stone's throw away from Perton where the worldwide event is held annually, it is just one of things I had to do in life and since working for Zebra Access I thought it would be a good time to start their fundraising drive. I then somehow managed to rope in the others for a good cause!

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? It will be difficult and depends on the conditions on the day - after all it isn't called Tough Guy for nothing...

How is the training going so far? The training so far is getting us fit, it will gear up a few notches higher in each session.

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? I was aware of Tough Guy for a few years and have always wanted to participate. When Chris asked me, I couldn't say no! It is to raise money to ensure that Deaf people in the Black Country have accessible information.

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? I am aiming for us to enjoy ourselves and for all of us to complete the course.

How is the training going so far? I was lacking in training especially during the Christmas festive period and after as I couldn't say 'NO' to the good food and for them to go to waste (especially cakes and puddings)... I have now got myself back in routine training and importantly what I am EATING... I just hope that I will have done enough for the big day...!

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? Chris Beech twisted my arm and said 'you are doing Tough Guy'... I couldn't say NO to the big guy...!!!

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? 10 years ago would not have been a problem... But now we just have to wait and see...! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it... My motto is 'No Pain, No Gain'...!

Matthew Shaw

How is the training going so far? I've only just started properly as December wasn't a good month for me due to injury and illness.

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? I thought it would be a good challenge and it is for a good cause, to provide workshops and so on for the Deaf community.

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? No, but with the great support from the team - I won't give up and give it a go!

Steve Richardson

How is the training going so far? I've just started doing some intensive training last Monday, still have lots to do!

Why did you get involved in Tough Guy? To give up smoking!

Do you think you can do the Tough Guy challenge?? Of course not!
