BSL Zone to showcase films in Leeds!

The BSL Zone makes programmes in British Sign Language and holds regular showcases where they show Deaf films and programmes to a Deaf audience!

The first of this year's BSL Zone showcases will be held in Leeds, at the Carriageworks Theatre on the afternoon of Sunday April 27th.

At the event, there is a very special premiere of the BSL Zone's new half-hour comedy, "Four Deaf Yorkshiremen go to Blackpool," which stars Deaf actor and comedian John Smith, plus Matthew Kirby, Jonathan Reid and Ilan Dwek!

The cast and crew for the film will attend the event to answer questions from the audience! Other programmes will also be screened.

Bim Ajadi's new film, 4, which stars Deaf actor Stephen Collins, will also be shown at the showcase. The film is the first web-only commission from the BSL Zone, which is a new way for Deaf people to make programmes independently.

Local programme-making talent from behind the camera will also be present to share their experiences with the audience.

Steven, who is organising the event says: "I can't wait to watch the premiere of the 'Four Deaf Yorkshiremen'. I am sure that the audience will want to see this entertaining film, which is suitable for all the family"
